Power everyone is seeking to have some type of power. I believe power has to be earned. Many times the wrong people have power. They are more focused on themselves then what is best for the greater good of the people. When you are in the field of education it should be what is best for the needs of the students as well as the community. The power dynamics at my school site is democractic. They try to make sure everyone has a voice and that every voice is heard. They try to work together for the greater good of everyone involved. This was not how it always was but when we received a new principal things had to change. Everyone was not happy about the change but once they notice how the change was benefical to everyone they agreed it was best. This showed how we are suppose to work together as a team.

Knowing a persons strength helps support the community. It allows for connection and harmony to take place. It is placing the greater good of the students and staff above all other things. This is how you motivate and encourage a group of people. To focus on the process and not just the product. How we worked together as a team to support the community as a whole. This is where the leaders stand tall and take the lead in getting the community to work together.

As I take this leadership course I hope that I will be come a stronger more effective leader. I feel there is not a balance in my leadership skills. I want democracy or I want too many peoples imput. I feel this leadership course will introduce me to how to have balance in my skills so I can be effective to the learners by making sure their needs are being met. Teacher leadership is important as an educator. You must place the needs of the
student above anything else. There must be consistency in your approach to
handling situations. I hope to learn how to become a great teacher leader so
that I may leave a lasting impact on my students future.
